Relationships

Q. How do I know if the relationship I’m in is healthy?

A. Healthy relationships can have many different characteristics, including mutual respect, open communication, trust, honesty, willingness to compromise so one person doesn’t always get their way, maintain your hobbies/interests, as well as being able to problem solve when arguments do come up. An unhealthy relationship occurs when one partner tries to control the other physically, emotionally or pressures them into  sexual activities without their consent. If you or someone you know is experiencing an unhealthy relationship, reach out to a trust adult, including your BridgeUP fellow or BeWell staff at bewellbu@gmail.com.
